The COVID-19 pandemic brings people’s attention to PPE industries. Masks, goggles, protective suits, and of course safety gloves walked into our everyday life. Despite the medical use of PPE products, they are more related to human work safety during the regular time. Let’s reveal how a pair of safety glove is made at Hanvo’s sampling room.

Step 1 Design

The design of safety glove includes color, shape, and fashion, but more importantly, function. Our development team will analyze the current market need, combining with our technology and production advantages, to create a pair of specialty glove. We also accept customer’s DIY development to create a pair of gloves just for you.

Step 2 Material Testing

Before start the producing process, it is necessary to test the liner majorly from the following aspects: fineness, twist, tensile, and elasticity to ensure that liners meet Hanvo’s standards.

YG086 Wrap Wheel: Used to measure liner’s weight. Under the same quality standards, lighter the liners are, softer and more comfortable the gloves will be.

Yarn Tensile Tester: Used to test liner’s strength and elasticity, in order to ensure firstly smooth knitting, and secondly glove’s durability.

YG155A Yarn Twist Tester: Used to measure the twist of yarns. If the twist is too low, yarns are easy to break during the knitting process. Otherwise, too high twist of a yarn would affect glove’s looking.

Most yarns will be knitted into gloves directly after testing. However, some specialty gloves require a mix of different function yarns, such as metal and glass fiber. Hanvo’s NXC3158 uses HPPE, steel fiber, and basalt fiber to wrap with regular yarn, in order to reach Cut F/ Ansi 6.

Step 3 Glove Knitting

Hanvo owns knitting machines with 7 gauges, 10 gauges, 13 gauges, 15 gauges, and 18 gauges, fitting different needs.

Gloves should then go through binding and drying process before dipping. Hanvo has 3 types of binding:overlock, roll hem edge and hot melt edge. The glove liner should be put into the drying oven first to be shaped and keep the surface flat, which could be made from the material of nylon, nylon & sapandex, polyester, polyester & spandex,as well as some special cut-resistant yarn.
